Professor John Adeyinka Adekoya
Professor John Adeyinka Adekoya had his early education at St Paul Primary School and Remo Secondary School, Sagamu from 1947 – 1961. He graduated from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile Ife with a B. Sc. (Honours) Geology degree in 1968 and was one of the two pioneer graduates of the Department of Geology. His master’s and Ph. D degrees were obtained from McGill University, Montreal, Canada (1975) and University of Ibadan, Ibadan (1991), respectively. He was a beneficiary of several postgraduate professional training awards for Mining Geology (Caghliari, Italy, 1971); Mineral Exploration (McGill, Montreal, Canada, 1973); and Remote Sensing (Stockholm, Sweden, 1990)
